Description

These brownie batter baked oats are simply divine. Chocolatey, with a gooey melted chocolate centre, they have a rich chocolate flavour that seems more like dessert than breakfast.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup oats (rolled)
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1/3 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup/honey (or 3 drops liquid stevia)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 square chocolate (or mini chocolate bar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a small ramekin with spray, coconut oil, or butter.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine the oats, banana, almond milk, cacao powder, syrup/honey, baking powder and sea salt (everything except the chocolate). For these oats.
  3. Fill the ramekin ¾ full with the batter. Place your chocolate square in the centre of the ramekin. Pour the rest of the batter on top.
  4. Bake your oats in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  5. The ramekin will be hot, so use an oven mitt to take your baked oats out of the oven. Let them cool slightly above room temperature, then eat and enjoy!

Notes

Meal prep this baked oats recipe by making a double batch. Eat one now, and wrap the other in plastic wrap to enjoy later. Prepared oats will stay good when wrapped or stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Simply reheat in a microwave to enjoy the next time the brownie cravings hit.
