Description

This mocha shake recipe is a great way to enjoy your daily coffee. Chocolate syrup, vanilla ice cream and iced coffee make a delicious fancy coffee drink.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.5 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup cooled coffee (*see notes below if using espresso)
  • 2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 6-10 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee: Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool completely. You can use leftover coffee or make it in advance and refrigerate.
  2. Gather Your Ingredients:
    • Take out the vanilla ice cream from the freezer.
    • Measure the chocolate syrup and milk.
  3. Blend It Up: In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, cooled coffee, chocolate syrup, milk and ice. Add any optional add-ins if you'd like at this point!
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This usually takes about 30 seconds to a minute.
  5. Check the Consistency: If the shake is too thick, you can add a bit more milk and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Drizzle extra chocolate syrup along the sides of the glass for a decorative touch, if desired.
    • Pour the mocha shake into glasses.
    • Drizzle extra chocolate syrup on top for a further finish, if desired.
  7. Optional Garnish: Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a sprinkle of cocoa powder for an extra indulgent touch.
  8. Serve Chilled: Enjoy your homemade mocha shake immediately while it's cold and refreshing.

Notes

If using espresso, use 2 shots, then top off with water, so that the total amount of coffee + water equals 1 cup.
