Description

There are so many uses for this delicious peach syrup. Whether you use it in cocktails or drizzled over dessert, it'll add a hint of summer!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup raw cane sugar
  • 1 cup room temperature water
  • 2-3 cups chopped peaches

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water.
  2. Heat over medium heat, and stir frequently until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add 2-3 cups of diced peaches. The less ripe the peaches, the more you'll want to use to achieve a strong peach flavour.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer the peach mixture for 5 minutes (or up to 10 minutes for a thicker syrup).
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat, then blend the cooked peaches and simple syrup with an immersion blender.
  6. Use a fine mesh strainer to separate the pulp from the syrup. (Psst . . . save the pulp to use in ice cream sundaes).
  7. Allow the syrup to cool before using.
  8. Store leftover syrup in an airtight container, jar or bottle in the refrigerator for up to one week.
