Ingredients
Scale
- 1 regular packet Tim Tams (200g)
- 1/4 - 1/2 of a 395g can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
Instructions
- Blend: Pulse Tim Tams in a food processor until the texture resembles sand.
- Add: Transfer crushed Tim Tams to a large bowl. Starting with a small amount, gradually add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla to the crumbs, mixing as you go. Take care not to add too much condensed milk to avoid a sloppy mix. You want all of the crumbs to be wet, but the mixture should be dry enough that it you can scoop it up into a ball. You won't need to use more than 1/2 the can.
- Chill: Cover the bowl with aluminium foil and transfer to the fridge. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight to make the mix easier to roll.
- Roll: Scoop up a Tablespoon-sized amount of mix, rolling it between your hands to create a ball.
- Coat: Pour the desiccated coconut onto a plate. Roll the ball in the coconut until fully coated.
- Store: Store in the fridge so that the balls stay firm, and enjoy!
Notes
- Storage: The Tim Tam balls will stay fresh for about 1 week when stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Vegan option: To make these vegan, use a vegan Tim Tam alternative and vegan condensed coconut milk.
- Gluten free option: To make these gluten free, use a gluten free Tim Tam alternative
- Added alcohol: If you want to make these boozy, add 1 Tablespoon of Baileys or Kahlua to the mix, noting that you'll likely need less condensed milk in this case.
- Using Thermomix: To make these in the Thermomix, skip steps 1 and 2. Instead, add all the ingredients to the mixing bowl. and mix on speed 8 for a few seconds. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix again. Repeat as needed.
