Call me crazy, but I think this vegan ricotta toast is even better than toast with regular ricotta. Of course, it's been awhile since I've had regular ricotta- but my point still stands.
If you're like me, and somehow manage to get swept up in every next trendy TikTok recipe, then odds are you've seen ricotta toast making the digital rounds on your feed.
I don't know who started the trend, but it was Lizzo's video that got me interested in trying my hand in creating a cheese alternative.
To say it turned out great would be an understatement. It is amazing and ticks all the boxes:
- Cheesy
- Nutty
- Salty
- Full of healthy ingredients
- High protein
But I couldn't just leave you with a ricotta recipe, I simply needed to share this ricotta toast idea with you. This is my favourite way to eat this non-cheese, and the sweet and salty flavours work perfectly together.
What Vegan Ricotta Do I Use?
You can use any kind you like best, but I highly recommend making my recipe for The Best 4-Ingredient Vegan Ricotta. With only a few ingredients and five minutes to spare, you can easily whip this up as part of quick brekkie or snack.
Compared to store-bought faux cheeses, I personally think this homemade one tastes much better, and it's much much cheaper.
