Another day, another pumpkin recipe. Good news though: This one is super-easy. Like, you can't even try to make an excuse to not try this smoothie. It's all the fun of your favourite autumnal desserts but takes only a minute to make. Best of all, this is a healthy take on the pumpkin pie flavour and is packed with healthy ingredients. Fruit, veggies, protein, healthy fats. Really, all your bases are covered. You can thank me later!

What You Need to Make This Smoothie

Creamy banana smoothie in a glass mason jar with fresh bananas and healthy ingredients for nutritious breakfast.
  • Banana: I use a frozen one to make the smoothie super creamy
  • Pumpkin puree: You can either buy it canned or make your own. This recipe includes easy instructions for pureeing your own pumpkin.
  • Nut milk: I like almond, but do whatever your heart tells you
  • Protein powder: I used Salted Caramel flavour from BSC, but any salted caramel or vanilla one would work well
  • Pumpkin pie spice: This is just a combo of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and ginger. In a pinch, mixed spice also works - or just use straight up cinnamon
  • Nut butter: Almond butter is best for a more subdued taste, but peanut butter also tastes great in this.

What Vegan Protein Powders Actually Taste Good?

Perhaps the most difficult part of this recipe is finding a vegan protein powder to include that actually tastes good. Oftentimes they can be a little overly plant-y or on the flipside, way too sweet. While I do like the BSC option here, I also love these for smoothies:
