    Overnight Weetabix With Nutella

    Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

Move over oats, these overnight Weetabix with Nutella are a breakfast game-changer. Perfectly sweet and creamy, this breakfast will also keep you feeling full until lunch time!

    overnight weetabix with nutella

If you're up-to-date on internet foodie trends (thanks, TikTok), you've likely heard of overnight Weetabix by now.

Taking inspiration from the favourite healthy breakfast overnight oats, this overnight Weetabix/ overnight Weetbix recipe takes the same concept of soaking overnight and applies it to this staple cereal.

One key difference: Overnight Weetabix is layered, whereas everything is mixed together in overnight oats.

By starting with a Weetabix layer, then adding toppings in a new layer, you get more of a parfait-like result. The finished product is sort of like a sweet, protein-filled, cheesecake without the crunchy crust.

Of course, people are — naturally —polarised about the soggy Weetabix. But we think it tastes great!

What Do Overnight Weetabix Taste Like

This nutella overnight Weetbix recipe falls somewhere in the same category as yogurt parfaits.

    They're

    • yogurt-y
    • high protein
    • easy to make
    • perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast
    • totally customisable

Thanks to the yogurt layer, you do get a strong yogurt flavour while eating overnight Weetabix. Just like a yogurt bowl or parfait, though, the real fun comes from what toppings you decide to add.

For this recipe, we kept it simple with a swirl of Nutella (yum!), but you could also add strawberries or bananas to the mix for some extra fruit.

Think of overnight weetbix like 'weetbix overnight oats' - different grains, but the same concept!

    FAQ and Troubleshooting

I live in Australia, can I make this with Weetbix instead?

Yep! Weetbix is the Aussie version of Weetabix, so it'll work just the same!

What kind of yogurt should I use?

You can use any yogurt you'd like! For a higher protein option, we recommend something a vanilla flavoured greek yogurt like Chobani Fit.

How long does overnight Weetabix need to sit?

To allow the overnight Weetabix to set, we recommend refrigerating it for at least 4 hours before eating.

Can I add protein powder to the yogurt?

Definitely! For high-protein overnight Weetabix, simply add 10-15 grams of your favourite protein powder to the yogurt, and stir well before layering onto the Weetabix layer.

What can I use instead of Nutella?

If you're not a fan of Nutella, you can swap it out for peanut butter, Biscoff spread, jam, or simply leave it out altogether.

    Description

Move over oats, these overnight Weetabix with Nutella are a breakfast game-changer. Perfectly sweet and creamy, this breakfast will also keep you feeling full until lunch time!

    Ingredients

    Units Scale
    • 2 Weetabix (crushed)
    • ½ cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
    • 170 g yogurt (1 small tub)
    • 1 tablespoon Nutella

    Instructions

    1. Crush 2 Weetabix biscuits, and place into a medium-sized cereal bowl or meal prep container.
    2. Pour almond milk over Weetabix, and stir to combine well. The Weetabix will immediately begin to soak up the liquid. Let the Weetabix and almond milk mixture sit for a few minutes to thicken.
    3. Carefully dollop greek yogurt on top of the Weetabix layer. Gently use a spoon to spread the greek yogurt evenly across the Weetabix.
    4. Dollop drops of Nutella on top of the yogurt layer. Use a toothpick or chop stick to swirl the Nutella evenly throughout the yogurt. This step is purely aesthetic but makes for a beautiful breakfast!

This is always a good lunch snack to take to uni! Definitely prefer it cold straight out the fridge, but it's still so good by midday. Thanks

I don’t understand how people like soggy weetbix? Is the weetbix wet and soggy? I’ve tried someone else’s very popular recipe of this and the weetbix were wet and soggy? Are yours not?
      Thanks 😊

Hi there! The weetbix do soak up some of the liquid overnight, but they are still somewhat soggy. The texture is quite similar to overnight oats. Hope that helps 🙂

How do you stop the nutella from freezing over night?

If you put it in the fridge, it should be fine. The Nutella should thicken up a bit but not freeze completely. If you don't like it like that, though you can always put it on immediately before eating.

          Hello,
Sorry for such a silly question, but do you then heat the weetabix before eating the next day?

            Hi there,
Most people just eat it cold, but you could definitely heat it up if you prefer. Let us know how you go 🙂
