This Biscoff hot chocolate is the perfect simple hot drink. Classic hot chocolate meets creamy cookie butter for a delightful sweet treat.
If you love the taste of Biscoff biscuits, you'll love this indulgent twist on hot cocoa.
By mixing some Lotus Biscoff spread, hot milk, and hot chocolate mix, you end up with a wonderful drink that tastes like Christmas in a mug!
🥘 What you need
- Milk: We used dairy milk in this recipe, but feel free to use any substitute of choice, including almond milk, oat milk, or soy milk.
- Biscoff cookie spread: There are a few versions of this Biscoff spread but all work well. Trader Joe's and Cookie Penotti both make a 'cookie butter' inspired by Speculoos cookies, with a flavour that's indistinguishable from the classic Biscoff spread.
- Hot chocolate mix: Any hot chocolate mix will work. We used Vittoria Chocochino in this recipe, but it would also taste great with a dark chocolate or white chocolate hot cocoa mix.
💭 Tips and tricks
- Prepare the hot chocolate, water and Biscoff spread mixture first. This ensures that everything is well-mixed.
- Don't let the milk boil. Keep a close eye on the milk to prevent it from boiling and forming a film.
- Use a frother. If you have a milk frother, now would be a great time to use it, as it will ensure everything is mixed and will result in a lovely foam.
🤝 What to pair with
This hot chocolate would be a wonderful addition to any dessert spread.
It would be the perfect way to wash down cookies, such as Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies or Biscoff Oatmeal Breakfast Cookies.
Speaking of breakfast . . . this would also be a great part of an indulgent breakfast. We'd love to pair this with Simple Vegan Banana Bread, toasted and spread with butter!
🤔 Common questions
Yes! Biscoff cookie spread is 100% vegan. You'll need to swap out the milk for non-dairy milk, and ensure you use a diary-free hot chocolate mix (some contain milk solids/ milk powder).
Yes, simply multiply the recipe to increase how much it makes. If you make a big batch, you could even warm it in a slow cooker or crock pot.
Yes! When heated Biscoff spread becomes liquid-y and spreadable. In this recipe, the Biscoff spread is heated in the hot water, but if you'd like to heat it separately, you can spoon out the amount of Biscoff spread you'd like into a microwave-safe mug and microwave on medium heat for 10-15 seconds.

The Best Easy Biscoff Hot Chocolate Recipe

- Yield: 2 mugs 1x
Description
This Biscoff hot chocolate is the perfect simple hot drink. Classic hot chocolate meets creamy cookie butter for a delightfully festive treat.
Ingredients
½ cup boiling water
2 Tablespoons hot chocolate mix
2 Tablespoons Biscoff cookie butter
1 ½ cup full cream milk or milk of choice
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a kettle or on the stovetop. Once boiled, mix water, hot chocolate mix, and Biscoff spread in a mug. Use a fork or handheld frother to ensure the Biscoff spread incorporated into the hot water.
- Meanwhile, heat 1 ½ cups of full cream milk until hot. You can do this by microwaving the milk in a microwave-safe Pyrex measuring cup, or on the stovetop in a small saucepan. The aim is to heat the milk just until hot, trying not to let it boil. If milk begins to boil, remove it from heat immediately.
- Pour the chocolate Biscoff mixture into the hot milk and stir well. Divide the hot Biscoff drink between two mugs.
- If you'd like, you can garnish your Biscoff hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate shavings, or chocolate powder for an extra-special drink.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Didn't drink it fast enough? To reheat your hot chocolate, pop it back in the microwave at 30-second intervals until warm.
